I was watching the news this morning and a story came up about the controversy surrounding the J.Crew ad that portrayed a mother painting her son’s toes a hot pink color because pink is his favorite color. This harmless advertisement has caused a stir with the conservative right winged media who called the ad a ”blatant propaganda celebrating transgendered children.”
Here is the ad in question -
Oh yes, now I can see it – It’s so evident that if you paint your son’s toenails pink, he will turn out to be gay. Of course! That’s how it begins with so many other gay men and transsexuals .
I have to wonder if the right winged media has anything better to do with their time than to target a harmless ad like this.

Not only is the ad harmless, but how wonderful for other little boys (and their moms) to see that there are OTHER pink boys and pink boys’ moms out there!

My son really wants a pink nightgown and if I could find one without a princess or Dora on it I would get him one. (I would not be buying those for a daugher either but that is my own issue ;o)) Pink is a pretty color even to toddler boys.

Anyone who ever spent time around a little kid (boy or girl) knows they all watch mom paint her nails and want the same. So what!
I think we have much bigger problems in this world than this. Get over it people!

Ridiculous – if this is the only thing they can find to complain about they need to seriously get out more often. Why label a colour as ‘belonging’ to one gender group or another? Why not jyst enjoy all the colours and have done with it? It’s a sad day when liitel boys cant wear pink and play with Cindy dolls without some nut thinking that that will make them gay – madness.

This is so funny too because back in the day, pink was a “boy” color but now modern times have changed that. So stupid!

Well, I’m sorry to break it to you, but they’re right. I only became gay after my mom painted my toenails pink and I’m actually considering getting a Vagina next month if there’ll be any on sale.
